Hi David
Thank you so much for the information. I take it my g-grandfather was Andrew Huffnail Yerex. I have that name somewhere else as well. I noted him birthdate (April 8) is the same as my dad's.

My dad, Donald George Yerex was born April 8, 1923 in Penetang and the family moved to Orillia when he was very young. Dad was a technician with Bell Canada for 43 years and also was a Corporal in the Air Force during WWII, although he never went overseas being stationed in B.C. and Newfoundland doing communications work. As I mentioned earlier, he died on Oct. 9, 2004.

My mother was Clara Carmel Birmingham born January 6, 1925. Mom was the oldest of six and was raised in northern Ontario in a little village called Dalton where her father worked in a lumber mill. Mom went on to become a nurse, training at St. Joseph's in Toronto. Sadly, we lost mom to cancer on May 30, 1992.

Mom and Dad met in 1946 and were married on August 28, 1948 and had five children;
Maureen Elizabeth b.Sept. 22, 1949
Douglas George b. February 26, 1952
John Michael b. November 5, 1953
Catherine Anne b. May 15, 1957
Paul Joseph b. November 20, 1962

The three oldest are married with children and grandchildren, but Paul and I never married (well, not yet anyway!).

I have the privilege of living in the family home which my parents bought in 1953 and we were raised in.

If you need any more info, please let me know.
Catherine
