I have been looking in the old newspapers for St Lawrence Co and came across this.
Mr. Alex Yerden and daugh-*
ter, Mrs. Farrell of* Alexandria
Bay visited relatives in town this
Leland Yerden, 42, son of Nick
Yerden, died Tuesday shortlyr before
noon from injuries he received when
he fell from one of the town truck*
engaged in working on thes Oak Point
Road. The -accident -happened ai,
about 10:30 in the morning, and Mr.
Yerden was put into'the car of—Le«_
Marsaw of Oak Point, when I t ^was
seen that he was rather badly injniv
ed. He was taken-to the office of Dr.
Graves^ in Brie'r Hill, where he received
first aid treatment "and .then
rushed on to Hepburn , Hospital,
in Ogdensburg, where he was entered
at 11:30. He died shortly after
his arriyel, a'little before noon.
An autopsy performed by Dr. Free
of Ogdensburg revealed that he hadsuffered
ruptured kidney^ and liver*
a cerebral- concussion^ fractured ribband,
Mr. Yerden was,"the son of Nick
Yerden who survives him, and Emma
Louise Yerden, who died during the
past year. He was born in the- town
of Hammond, and lived here all his
life. For sixteen years he worked for,
George R. Taylor on the Taylor farm
| in Pleasant Valley, He ^was a, conscientious
worker and invaluable > to
his employers. H6 jwas married, in.
Dec 1928, to Miss Mary Yerden,
dau'gRte of Alex.Yerden. Beside his
wife and father he leaves two children,
Emma Louise and Leland Jr.
This confuses me because Mary Yerden daughter of Alex (Alexander) Yerden married a ferrell. Was MAry married to her cousin or something? Or are they two different Marys?
