LARRY: MY LINE OF THE YERBY FAMILY SETTLED VIRGINIA IN THE EARLEY 1600'S. THERE WERE FIVE BROTHERS,A FATHER, AND AN UNCLE.THEY HAD LOTS OF CHILDREN,THAT SETTLED ALL DOWN THROUGH THE DEEP SOUTH. NORTH&SOUTH CAROLINA,ALABAMA,MISSISSIPPI&SO ON.MY PEOPLE WERE SLAVERS, AFTER THE CIVAL WAR SOME SLAVES TOOK THERE OWNERS LAST NAME IN SOME FORM. IF YOU ARE OF BLACK DECENT THIS MAY BE THE ANSWER. ANOTHER POSIBILITY,MY MIDDLE NAME IS THE LAST NAME OF THE FAMILY DOCTOR THAT DELIVERED MY FATHER. ONE OF MY COUSINS HAS MY MIDDLE NAME, AS HIS MIDDLE NAME. THAT IS A OLD SOUTHERN CUSTOM, TO GIVE A LAST NAME AS A MIDDLE NAME,OF A DOCTOR OR GOOD FRIEND OF THE FAMILY. MY FATHERS MIDDLE NAME IS THE SAME AS MINE. ALSO I HAVE Wm. YERBY,AS FAMILY NAME,WAY BACK. HOPE THIS IS OF SOME HELP. GOOD LUCK!! I HAVE MY FAMILY LINE TRACED AND DOCUMENTED IF YOU WANT SOME INFO. MY E-MAIL IS GRIZZWAG@AOL.COM
