Someone was interested in the YEOMAN name, I came across this on a convict's Central website.
Transportation from Warwickshire to Western Australia, "The Swan River Colony. 1850 - 1868;

Thomas YEOMAN. aged 29;
Arrival: 1862.
Ship: "York" (from Birmingham)
Trial year: 1859, for Larceny.
Sentance: 6 years to serve

could this be your Thomas (he would be 29 at his trial date- born 1830)
