In search of ancestors of my grandmother, Mary Callie Yeoman(s), b. 28 Jan 1880, in Henry Co., AL. She was first married to Eli Jackson Clark 10 Dec 1896, in Dale Co., AL, and had two sons, Joseph Edward Clark, b. 19 May 1898, and General Dewey Clark, b. 27 Feb 1900. Eli died 3 Feb 1901, and Callie remarried 14 Feb 1902 to George Clayton Bailey and had 10 children. She died 5 May 1953 in Blakely, Early Co., GA, where she was living with her daughter, Sadie Pearl Bailey Smith and son-in-law, Ralph Burns Smith. Callie is buried next to George however, in Hartford Cemetery, Geneva Co., AL. George had also lived with Sadie Pearl and Ralph Smith until his death in 1949. I have found Mary Callie in 1880 in Dale Co., AL, in the household of her parents, Joseph C. Yeoman(s) who was born abt. 1846 in SC, and wife, Balinda or Malinda Smith, born abt. 1840 in AL. Other children listed are Nancy Ann, 12, Sarah Ann, 10, Josie, 8, Louvenia, 7, Octavia, 5, and Eddie O. I believe I have found the same Joseph C. Yeomans, 15, in Dale Co., AL, Newton, in the 1860 Census, in the household of his parents, James, 55, b. SC, and Nancy, 55, b. GA, and siblings, Mary, 17, Judson C., 12, and Christian?, 10, female. Research has led me to believe that Joseph's wife may be Nancy Dillard. The 1870 census of Dale Co., AL, Sylvan Grove, finds J. C. Yeoman, 25, Nancy, 29, Nancy, 3, Sarah 5/12, Cora, 2, and John Bailey, 15. Would enjoy exchanging information with anyone researching this line. Notify Administrator about this message?
