Hi Barbara,
Thank you for your reply. Esther Thorogood married James Yeldon in Spitalfields in 1841. The marriage cert. indicates he was of mature age and widowed at the time. Therefore Richard Thorogood Yeldon And James Thorogood Yeldon were born before this date either out of wedlock or thieir mother was Martha Jest. Mary and Elizabeth being born after 1841, to Esther and James. The IGI says they were both christened in Saint George the Martyr Workhouse, Southwark, London.Hope this clarifies your queries.
