Hello Ross:

I am just beginning my reseaerch on my wife's side of the family. Her grandfather was Charles Yee, who arrived in Newfoundland from China, possibly via Canada and the USA around the beginning of the 20th century. We'll never get to Disney World's Epcot Center to see the China Exhibit, but your reference to "the Yi people of China" in connection the Yee's intrigued me. Can you provide any information in this regard? Who were the Yee/Yi family? Where did they come from in China? Were they one family or a number of families named for an area or era?

Any help would be appreciated.
