Matilda Yeatts was possibly a slave or former slave in the Yeatts family in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. She was the mother of Mary Yeatts Shelhorse, who had a child with Lewis Shelhorse (known to be of a German family who changed the name from Schelhausen.) They were the parents of Cora Shelhorse, who was born in Gretna, Virginia in 1892. Cora married my grandfather, Dallas Cash. They lived in Charleston, West Virginia, until her death in 1967. Any information would be appreciated.
