Nick- Using the pages from "New Sharon Remembered" you kindly sent me as well as the one Yeaton deed I have from New Sharon (Philip buying land there 5 Mar 1799 from proprietor Capt. James Carr of Hallowell), I was able to infer the following: Philip Yeaton was already in New Sharon in Mar 1799, per the deed, when he bought lot 49. In 1800 Philip is listed as residing on lot 19(S), the "S" meaning the lot was south of the Sandy River. On the New Sharon land survey map from 1790, lots 19(S) and 49 are adjacent to each other. I'm not sure what this means exactly, but it certainly suggests that these two Philips are from the same family, if not the same man. Too bad the list showing Martha Yeaton "moving on" her land in 1784 doesn't tell us which lot was hers. But since we have a record for the purchase of lot 49, I'd hazard a guess that Martha lived on lot 19(S). Dan Notify Administrator about this message?
