Martin-
I hope you're still out there?I wanted to touch base with you again (it's been a little while, I know!)and bounce some new names off of you.
I had the good fortune to connect with another YEATON researcher and he had an alternate suggestion for my line. The previous information concerning the mother of my Henry W. YEATON being Sarah (------), as it turns out, is less than reliable. Therefore, I am still looking for a Benjamin YEATON in and around Bremen, Lincoln Co, ME who was raising a family c1810, but am no longer limited just to Benjamins whose wives were named Sarah.
I'm hoping yourself or someone on here has some more clues. The following line was suggested by another researcher and is far from proven but it's all I've got right now. Please let me know if you can add to or dispute anything in the following "chart."
1. Benjamin YEATON b.abt 1782; d.26 Feb 1855 while "on the town" in Bremen, Lincoln Co, ME.He was apparently the town pauper but in better times he was a ships carpenter. In the 1850 census he and his wife are listed separately; it is possible they divorced as she is using her maiden name."Benjamin Yeaton" is listed in the 1820 census of Bristol (now Bremen), Lincoln Co, ME with what appears to be eight children all born between 1804 and 1820.This seems to fit nicely if he and his wife were born c1782-1784 (as the 1850 census shows.) There is a Benjamin YEATON listed in the Boston, MA census of 1830 which seems to fit the 1820 family, minus one daughter. At least one of Benjamin's sons (Henry W.) was in Boston by 1835 so it's conceivable Benjamin moved there with his family then moved back to Bremen, ME at a later date.
Benjamin married (no date found yet) Jane WALLACE b.abt 1784 in Bristol (now Bremen), Lincoln Co, ME and d.aft Aug 1850.Jane was the daughter of Josiah WALLACE and Sarah CURTIS who were married 14 Dec 1814 in Bristol, Lincoln Co, ME.
Apart from the 3 "known" children listed below, it appears from the 1820 census that Benjamin and Jane also had at least 5 other children, to wit.:
(son)YEATON b.1804-1810
(son)YEATON b.1804-1810
(dau.) YEATON b.1810-1820
(dau.) YEATON b.1810-1820
(dau.) YEATON b.1810-1820
Children of Benjamin YEATON and Jane WALLACE were:
2. Abigail R. YEATON b.abt 1808 d.27 Jan 1892.She lived in Bremen, Lincoln Co, ME and never married.
3. Henry W[allace?] YEATON was born in Oct 1812 in Bremen, Lincoln Co, ME.He is listed in the 1840 and 1850 census in Boston, Suffolk Co, MA.He died on 14 Jan 1859 in Boston, Suffolk Co, MA.He was buried in Dorchester, Suffolk Co, MA.He had an estate probated after 14 Jan 1859 in Boston ward 12, Suffolk Co, MA.
He was married to Ruth K MILLER on 29 Jul 1835 in Boston, Suffolk Co, MA.Ruth K MILLER was born on 6 Dec 1817 in Charlestown, Middlesex Co, MA, daughter of George W. MILLER and Sarah KING.She died on 19 Oct 1885 in Boston, Suffolk Co, MA.She was buried in Dorchester, Suffolk Co, MA.
Children of Henry W[allace?] YEATON and Ruth K MILLER were:
i. Frances M. YEATON.
ii. Josephine C. YEATON. (my line)
iii. Sophronia YEATON.
iv. Georgianna A. YEATON.
v. Harvey YEATON.
vi. Henry Granville YEATON
vii. Ella G. YEATON.
viii. Ida F. YEATON
ix. Albert E. YEATON
x. Alma H. YEATON.
4. Harvey R. YEATON b.Sep 1818 in Bremen, Lincoln Co, ME, d.27 Feb 1864 in Bremen, Lincoln Co, ME. He was a farmer and lived on Heath Road in Bremen. His gravestone is in the north-west section of the Bremen graveyard, right next to the JOHNSTON family who seems to be somehow connected to this line.Thomas JOHNSTON b.1767c was living with Harvey in the 1850 census and in his mother Jane YEATON's 1830 census listing in Bremen, she is living next door to a Mary JOHNSTON b.1760-1770 and a James JOHNSTON b.1790-1800.
Harvey R. YEATON married 5 Dec 1855 in Bremen, Lincoln Co, ME Mary Frances STUDLEY b.1838, daughter of Lewis STUDLEY and Rachel SIMMONS.
Children of Harvey R. YEATON and Mary Frances STUDLEY were:
1. (------) YEATON b.Apr 1856, Bremen, ME
2. Florence YEATON b.10 Jun 1857, Bremen, ME
3. Lydia Frances YEATON b.Jun 1860, Bremen, ME
4. Thoms Johnston YEATON b.22 Apr 1861, Bremen, ME.
He married Abigail HAVENER.
Any help appreciated.
