Hi Pam,

Although I have no Yeatman ancestors, I am interested in Thomas Yeatman, your great great grandfather, as for a time he was the landlord of the Wellington Inn in Long Street, Sherborne. Something happened to the Wellington Inn in about 1880 (it may have burnt down, as Thomas was a baker as well as an innkeeper) and the house I live in was built in its place.

I am preparing a short history of my house and of the Wellington Inn, and would be happy to pass on any information I have about Thomas Yeatman. For instance, did you know he appears in a local directory of 1875 as 'Thomas Yeatman jun'? Equally, I would be very grateful for any information that you might have about his career as an innkeeper and baker in Sherborne.

I see that your message is a couple of years old now, but if you are interested and would like to exchange information, then please feel free to e-mail me at barrybrock@hotmail.com.

Good luck with your research and regards,

Barry Brock
