The deed was found for sale on ebay. I find it terrible that the saler doesn't just try to find the someone from the family.
Description
An intriguing document, it is a deed transfer between Margaret Wotters, a widow, and Eliza Yeatman Smith. Signed in the appropriate places by Mrs. Wotters and the notary(a fellow named Charles A. Stephani). There is a $1 Entry of Goods (Scott R67) revenue stamp affixed and pen cancelled. The stamp is affixed at one of the file folds, but is otherwise not damaged. There is the usual age toning , soil, folds, creases, minor tears, etc. that you find on these old documents. A wonderful piece of Missouri history.
