I am new to the "Earwood/Yearwood" research having learned recently that a female ancestor was of this family. The little I know comes mainly from York County, SC census records and is as follows:
Dulcinia (aka Dulcy, Dulcina) born ca 1831.
On at least one census she was listed as having been born in NC; on all others as SC.
She was married to John Childers of York County, SC and had the following children:
James, John, Lewis Samuel, Sarah, Martha J., and George B.
James was born ca 1851 so I would like to assume she married ca 1850.
She was widowed in 1864--John was KIA in the Civil War.She was later listed on pension rolls for Widows of Confederate Soldiers. The last list I have seen her name was 1907.
I share this little bit of info in an effort to help you in your research but also for selfish reasons--if you know the family in which my Dulcy belongs, would you be so kind as to share it with me?
Thank you and good luck with your female Earwoods/Yearwoods.
