Hi! I am a direct descendant of the Yearta family that you mentioned. My grandmother is 89, her name is Erma (Yearta) Thomas, and her father was William Franklin Yearta (7-22-1878 to 3-23-1923) Her mother was Lela (Welborn) Yearta (4-20-1880 to 1-27-64.) I know that William Franklin Yearta was the son of Rueben & Mary (Harrison)Yearta. Both of his parents are listed as being born in GA. William Franklin is listed as having been born in Nashville, Tn. He had all of his children in Ozark, Arkansas and is buried in the Ozark, Arkansas cemetery. I have been to this cemetery, and there are several Yearta's buried there. All of this branch has been traced to Pukaski, Wilkinson & Morgan County, Ga as early as 1800, with some ties to Florida before that. I have a 1850 Census from Pulaski Co. GA that lists Malta Yearty as 13, and the 1860 Census lists him as a laborer, aged 23. In the 1870 Census he was 33, and His wife is listed as Harriet (Rozar) Yearty, age 23- there are 4 children listed in the household 1. Alonzo - age 12 (male)
2. Morgan - age 4 (male)
3. Marion - age 2 (male)
4. Crawford- age 1 (male)
