I am looking for information about William Lafayette YEARTA b:abt 1834 and Greenberry YEARTA b:abt 1836 in MorganCo, GA. The two brothers married sisters, Matilda and Bettie BROOKS. Sometime prior to 1862, the brothers moved to Hendrixville, AL and enlisted in the Civil War. Two known children of Greenberry and Bettie Brooks Yearta, William Lafayette b:1854 and James J. Yearta b:1859 are left orphaned after the death of both parents during the Civil War. The two boys are raised by their Aunt Matilda and Uncle Wm.L. and are found in 1870 Blountville, BlountCo, AL. by 1880 the family has moved to Huntsville, MadisonCo, AL. In June 1880, the two brothers marry. James J. Yearta and family end up in Jonesboro, CraigheadCo, AR. The whereabouts of brother, William Lafayette, Jr., is unknown. Whether William Lafayette Yearta, Sr. and Matilda had children or not is also unknown. Because a lot of this family was lost during the Civil War, the research into this line has been tedious and difficult. If anyone has information concerning this line or has Yearta information they would like to share, please contact me. Through process of elimination, I might be able to fill in the next missing link. Thank you, Susan Neuman
