Most interesting information on your Stinnett connection. Did William's wife Harriett die in Kentucky? You said William returned which left me with the impression that his wife did not.
In the 1850 census of J. J. Yearout, he has two daughters that both appear to be name Harriett. A bit unusual, do you have the full names of these two sisters?
You can probably also straighten me out on who their daughter Susan Yearout married. There are listings showing her married to David Green Cupp in 1846, but why was she enumerated with her parents in 1850 as Susan Yearout? Just to add to the confusion there a references to a Daniel S. Hawkins as her husband AND a marriage record in Blount Co. for Susan Year out marrying Elbridge Harle in 1859. Record is a little hard to read, so I'm not sure if 1859 is correct on this one.
Pretty messy, so I can see why it took so much effort to figure this family out. I sort of have this suspicion that all the children were listed in the 1850 census even if they were no longer living at home ... or maybe Susan was visiting? Sure has me confused!
