Hello Stephanie,my name is Butch George (Clarion County Georges).I have kinda chuckled over this message.I too have heard that my ancestor Archibald George (b.1783-d.unknown) had changed his name when he came overseas from Yorick/Yerick or something to that matter. Now I thought he came from Ireland but I'm starting to wonder since they said that it comes from German.I really have no clue because Yorick/Yerick is a German name and there are surnames of George in Ireland.Boy this just keeps getting better everytime don't it.I wonder if he changed his first name too LOL.Have you found any trace of your ancestors overseas? Thanks,Butch George Venango Co.,PA
