My Simon Yearick (not Georg) was born 27 Jun 1755 somewhere in Germany. He died 5 Feb 1831 in Mifflinburg, Union County, Pennsylvania. His wife was Barbara. Don’t have her surname nor marriage date. They had six children, Henry M, Samuel, Jacob, Hnnah, Margaret & Susan.
My wife is descended from Henry M: born 24 Apr 1780 in Mifflinburg, died 21 Jun 1856 in Buffalo Valley, Union, Pennsylvania. Henry married Maria Catherine Roush on 19 Oct 1805 in Berks County, Pennsylvania.
Henry Yearick, son of Simon Yearick was commissioned as a Justice of the Peace on 4 Jun 1810 and was later appointed Justice by Gov. McKean on 26 Mar 1813 when Union County was formed from Northumberland County. At that time, the Grand Jury of Union County was held in Henry’s home. He charged the County $4.00 rent for the three sessions, Sep and Dec terms 1814 and Feb 1815. He continued to serve as Justice for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Pennsylvania State Legislature from Union County from 1836-1838. He was one of the first trustees of Mifflinburg Academy. Henry was first listed as a resident of Mifflinburg in 1808. He was a hatter or maker of men’s fine hats by trade.
