Hi Ira. Here's what I have concerning John B. Yeargan. Descendants of Samuel Yeargan Generation No. 1 1. SAMUEL2 YEARGAN (ANDREW1) was born Abt. 1765 in Fluvanna County, Virginia, and died Bef. 1840 in Franklin County, Georgia. He married MARY SPEARMAN Abt. 1790 in Newberry, S. Another tax record described Freeman Hardy's property as "joined Yeargins" In 1821 Silas Higgins' property "joined Yeargan and McBee's". The 1820 census for Franklin County, Georgia, is lost, but a reconstruction of the 1820 census shows Samuel Yeargan in Franklin County in Capt. Kelton's district. Deed Book B, Deeds of Franklin County, Georgia, 1784-1826, page 76, tells us: "Deed dated Franklin Co. 16 Sept.1816, recorded 1 Sept. 1821, from Freeman Hardy and wife Sarah of aforesaid to Samuel Yeargin of same. She was born December 06, 1880 in Bloomer, Sebastian County, AR, and died September 19, 1936 in Whittier, Los Angeles Co., CA. Notes for WILEY BURTON YEARGAN: The following is lore as told by my Great Uncle Wallace Martin Yeargan, son of Wiley Burton Yeargan, and brother of my Grandfather, Ervin Beauregard Yeargan. Uncle Wallace is still living, this year, 1999, and is 83 years old. Wiley Burton Yeargan was born in or around Paris, Texas. He and his family moved to Indian Territory, present day Oklahoma, about 1880. It is said that John A. Yeargan, father of Wiley, my have died prior to the move. He could be buried around Paris, Texas. The group, widow Martha, Bill, John Jr., Wiley, Dorcus, and Delila moved in a small wagon, called a hack, pulled by a team of jennies ( small mules). Bill was in charge of the move. Uncle Wallace's mother, my Great Grandmother, Minnie, said the women were very pretty all having large dark eyes and dark hair with clear fair skin. They were forever primping. Uncle Wallace said " guess they were in search of husbands". One of the girls, Delila, married a man named Joe Bellar at Pauls Valley, OK. Old Joe just happened to have a couple of sections of bottom land which the Washita river ran through. There were lots of paper hulled Pecan trees. Joe and Delila had one son, who married a school marme and had two boys. Uncle Wallace, Vern (Auvern), and their parents used to visit them when Uncle Wallace was 12. Uncle Bob (Clifford) and Vern visited them again before they married and stayed with them for quite awhile. The State of Ok made a park out of the Bellars farm.
