Yearby appears as the middle name of several of our Coats family members. Wilson Yearby Coats, the earliest, was the son of William Coats and Amelia Barrett of Davidson/Rowan Cos. NC. They moved in IL in the mid 1800's. Since the name is so unusual, I'm wondering if it might tell us anything about our difficult to trace Coats Family. Several of the other children's middle names in this family unit were Quaker surnames. Where did the NC Yearbys come from?
