Hello John,
I was happy to read your other message about the Stokes family at New Paltz. We have quite a few connections, I'll bet.I'd love to know more about John Stokes and if one of his daughters was Sarah (Sally) Stokes b 1800, d. July 11, 1876, m. Joseph Yeaple (my ancestor). But I can also offer a little info on Phoebe Yeaple. If you aren't familiar with the book, The Yaple Family in America, by Doris Geist Yaple and her father, Roland S. Yaple, Sr., they may have a copy at the New Paltz Library.
Phoebe is listed on page 52 as follows:
"Phebe Yeaple b July 1888 NFR," but the book does show her siblings and parents.I know you were looking for her children, but this book can take you back quite a ways.
Her siblings are listed as
Josiah (Joseph) Yeaple, b Mar 1880 NFR
Ana Elizabeth Yeaple, b Apr 1877 NFR
Mahala Yeaple b Aug 1886/87 NFR
Phoebe July 1988
Simon Yeaple b Aug 1889 NFR
I can take that back further if you don't already have it.
Her parents were Gideon Yeaple b Jan 1845/46 d 28 Nov 1920 bu New Paltz Rural Cemetery m. Mary Catherine __________ b Mar 1855/57 d 8 Feb 1922
Look forward to "talking" to you.
Gail
