Royal Yeamans info from New Mexico

I am researching ferryboats in the southwest. I received the following information from the Silver City (NM) Museum.

It concerns a "Royal Yeamans". I hope it helps someone.

The Blachly tape is from the Pioneers
Foundation (Lou Blachly) audiotapes in the UNM Library collection--page 8
refers to the transcription of this particular tape, which is available on
microfilm. The "interview" with Caesar Brock is not actually a taped
interview but rather Blachly's recounting of his interview. MVI is the
Mesilla Valley Independent.

1870 U.S. Census, Do–a Ana County, La Mesilla:
Yeamans, Royal, 34, Liquor dealer retail, b. NY
Bowman, Elizabeth, 25, keeping house, b. Texas
---------- Julius Caesar, 6, b. Texas
______ Josephine E., 1, b. NM
Compose, Juan, 9, domestic servant, NM

Blachly Tape 90, side 1, page 8--Caesar Brock: Yeamans had a sutler store at
Fort Selden, 1876Ðhad a butchershop and ran a ferry across Rio Grande.
Josey was Yeamans' daughter by Brock's mother. Brock's mother took Yeamans
away from Dona Lola and married him. Brock still at Burro Springs in 1908.

MVI 18 Aug 1877 - Ad: FORT SELDEN FERRY. The traveling public is
respectfully informed that the Ferry at Fort Selden has been placed in good
working order, and is now open for the public use. Strict attention will be
given to the prompt and speedy crossing of passengers, animals and trains.
PERFECT SAFETY GUARANTEED. ROYAL YEAMANS.
