Mr. Farmer:

Thanks for your response!

I had the pleasure of meeting Col. Cave at St. Nicholas Abbey several years ago...he was most gracious when he found I was a descendant of Col. Benjamin Berringer and Margaret Foster - and we were invited to join him for a personal tour of the home. (It was the highlight of our trip to Barbados.)

About the poisoning of Berringer by Yeamans - I have read that account also...I think there was a trial - regarding same - but Sir John Yeamans and my g+ grandmother (Margaret Foster Berringer) were not held accountable. As you know - Sir John went on to become an early governor of South Carolina...

So much for family history - if there wasn't something "interesting" popping up now and then in genealogy - we might not be so dedicated.

As a Berringer descendant (not Yeamans!) I can only surmise that perhaps YOUR ancestor led MY ancestor astray!!

(A little humour there - it could have been the OTHER way!!)
