A.P. YEAGLEY - - APPRECIATION
James A. Field Writes of Death of a Prominent Man
Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Yeagley went to visit their son, Clyde Yeagley and wife in Los Angles California, in December 1912. There was a little granddaughter there whom they had never seen, and a brother of Mrs. Yeagley, Frank Ensign, whom they wished to visit, beside other relatives and friends. After some time spent in visiting and sightseeing, Mr. Yeagley had an attack resembling lagrippe and did not feel able to undertake the homeward journey, so concluded to go to Olton, Texas, where another brother of his wife lived to visit until Mr. Yeagley gained more strength . Instead of getting better, his health was much worse. On April 21st his son Guy, who lives on the farm, and Mr. Yeagley’s brother, Sherman, of Farmer, started for Texas to bring Mr. Yeagley home if possible to remove him. When they arrived there, he was dead. The body was brought to Ney Monday April 28, and taken to the home. A large number of relatives and friends met them at the depot. Funeral services were held at his home in Washington township Wednesday, April 30 at 1:30. Interment in Farmer cemetery.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, two sons, two grandchildren, father, mother, one brother and three sisters, besides a host of relatives and friends.
An acquaintance of forty years and true friendship existing through all that time prompted me to write this in behalf of one who will be sadly missed by each and everyone who knew him. He seemed near as a brother to me, and while life _mains can never be forgotten. I hope and trust he has entered into eternal rest and joy increasing in a better Home than earth can offer. May God be with and strengthen each and all who mourn for him is the wish and prayer of his friend.
