Back in 2001, I acquired the diary of George Buffington Sr. (the Revolutionary Soldier) 1759 - 1830. I have since photographed every page, and translated some difficult-to-read sections. The diary, itself, is now preserved in an air-tight case, ready to pass on to future generations. The diary seems to have been started around the time George married Barbara Hoffman (daughter of John Peter Hoffman), about 1780. George records the birth and death dates of his parents, wife, children & grandchildren. He also has some recipes for whiskey, wine and cures written into the diary. I have absorbed a bit of expense in the preservation process, as well as putting the diary into computer form, but I would like to share this info with others who have ties to the Buffington lineage. I would ask a small donation from those wanting to acquire the files (MS Word or Adobe pdf), perhaps $10, to defray some of my expenses, as well as cover the future cost of preservation. Would there be interest from my fellow genealogists in purchasing the file copies of this diary? Notify Administrator about this message?
