William Yeadon of Scrooby England

I am wondering if anyone on this forum might be related to William Yeadon, a toll keeper who was murdered on 3 July 1779 in Scrooby England (Nottinghamshire). William and his mother were murdered by John Spencer who was later hung in chains until the corpse was nothing but bones. I believe William may be my 5th great grandfather's brother, and I am hoping that someone who might be related to the family and this tale can help me link my John Yeadon who goes to Nova Scotia about 1783, and has children there by 1790 to the English origins.

William's father (who I believe is a Samuel) was a toll keeper near Doncaster. I also believe that Samuel Yeadon who died in 1819 in Halifax Yorkshire and buried at St. Wilfrid's Calverly is a brother to William and John.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This tale comes down in my family for more than 200 years now that Old Yeadon left England after his mother and brother were murdered. I am hoping one of the readers might have a link to my line.

Crossing my fingers.
