Louisa Jane was born 15 April 1856 at Yeadon, daughter of Reuben and Elizabeth Yeadon (nee Dixon); father's occupation was a journeyman clothier. Her brother, John Lincoln, was also born at Yeadon on 12 May 1861, and by that time his father's occupation was listed as Green Grocer.
Louisa Jane married William Mawson on 18 November 1876 at Wharfedale Register Office; John Lincoln married Elizabeth Smith at the same venue on 6 February 1882.
