Hi Kathy: I saw your posting on the Yawn families and thought I would drop you a note and ask for any help you can give me regarding my ggrandmother, Elizabeth Yawn. Our family lines may not even cross, but I am hoping there is some connection. I was always under the assumption her parents were James and Lucy Poole Yaun, of Telfair County, GA. However, she is not listed as a child in the new book written by Patricia Yawn Lundberg. Sometimes she is listed with that James Yaun family and sometimes not. My Elizabeth Yawn married Abel Thomas Cadwell and after his death in the Civil War, she married my ggrandfather, Henry Hutto. It appears that Henry came from the household of Benjamin and Ellender Hutto, Pulaski County, GA. My entire Hutto side seems to be questionable, but now, it also appears my YAWN side isn't far behind! I haven't been able to find another Yawn family in that area of GA. she could have belonged to. Some say she was born in 1832, but I believe it is closer to 1837. Perhaps, you might know of another Yawn family I have overlooked. I have tracked my Elizabeth Yawn on census records, church records, etc and a pension record. I believe Elizabeth was living next door to James and Lucy Yaun on the 1850 census record and that's where the problem starts; she wasn't listed as a dau with the Yaun family. Of course the age is off a little, but that happens. Also, James Yaun and Benjamin Hutto were friends/associated and Henry Hutto was living with the Yaun family on the 1860 census. It makes sense my Henry married Elizabth in 1865 with the family connections. Henry was lucky enough to survive the C. W.; guess I wouldn't be here if he hadn't!!! I have quite a bit on dear Elizabeth and her Hutto family; but who really are her parents??? Considering I had very little to go on when I started my genealogy "quest", I've come a long way! I am hoping you have some info that can help. Anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read my email posting.
