My great-great-great grandfather Allen Yaughn was born in South Carolina between 1840-1845. He was married to Susan (1846). I have found that the surname has taken on many spellings but it seems that the family moved from SC to Crawford County Geogia. 1850 the spelling was Yon...1870 Yown(Yawn) and 1880 to present Yaughn.

The research I have found gives Allen's parents names as Charles and Harriet(Harreth) Yon (1850-Crawford Co.) or at least I believe this to be the lineage.

Any information is welcomed.
