Hello,
I read your message about Isaac Yawn and am curious about his family.. Do you have that information and
would your been interested in sharing?
I am searching for Mahala/Mahale Yawn who was in Decatur County, Ga on 1850 census, listed as widow
with 8 children, the youngest being Isaac Yawn, age 8 months. I found Mahale Yawn on 1880 census
in Whigham, Decatur Co. Ga with her son, Riley Yawn, age 26 as head of household. Mahala's daughter
Tearcy/Thersty/Tiersty Yawn b. 1833 is my gg grandmother who married Washington A. Walters in
Decatur CO. Gerogia in 1854. There has always been stories of Tiersty's family being Cherokee Indian
and I have not been able to find any information on this. Mahala lived near Patrick Yawn and Leah Yawn
in 1850. Have you any information on this family. Appreciate any help. Wilda
