Thank you for contacting me. I’m a gg-granddaughter of Charles Yaw. Charlotte Dowd (age 19) was married 26 Nov 1865 in Berrien Co, MI to Franklin M Yaw (age 21). Three known children were born from this marriage, Emma V, Charles H and Walter B. There are no persons found by the name Marvin Cecil Yaw or Marvin Cecil Jr in any family records that I have collected, they are only found on the internet. As far as I can guess, that name is a mixture of other relative names. Charlotte had a younger brother named Marvin H Dowd and her grandson Harold Yaw had the middle name Cecil. Family tradition tells of a third child of Charlotte and Franklin M Yaw that sickened and died at a young age. I have found one source that gives his name as Walter B Yaw, b 1871 and d 1872. Supposedly, Franklin left Charlotte just after Walter’s death. Franklin remarried in 1875. Charlotte married Locklin Clark on 27 Nov 1890 in Berrien Co, MI. It was second marriages for both of them. They are buried in Watervliet Cemetery, Berrien Co. My grandfather remembered knowing his great-grandma Clark. Which of Frank and Emma Shiflet's children do you descend from?
