Have you heard of the Rev John Yates, Unitarian minister, Dingle-head, Toxteth Park? He had three sons, Richard Vaughan Yates, James Yates and Joseph Brooks Yates. I'm intersted in James Brooks(1780-1855) becasue he had a plantation in Jamaica in 1832, but I don't really know anything else about him. Would like to know if he was in any way related to Thomas Legall Yates who also had plantations in Jamaica. Thomas Legall Yates was born in 1753 but I'm not sure whether in Jamaica or England. He had a brother called Ambrose Nicholas Yates.
