Sorry to say, I am not related. I am helping a friend with his Yates ancestors.

Here is an updated look at those two censuses.

1880 Kentucky Twp., White Co., Arkansas census:
James Yates, head, 25, farmer, born Arkansas, father born NC, mother born KY
Tilda Yates, wife, 21, housekeeper, AR KY AR
Allie Yates, dau, 1, AR AR AR

June 12, 1900 Revilee Twp., Logan Co., Arkansas census:
James M Yates, head, born Nov 1855, 44, married 23 years, born AR, father born MS, mother born TN, farmer
Matilda Yates, wife, March 1859, 41, 5 children alive out of 10 born, AR AR KY
John M Yates, son, Sept 1878, 21, born Arkansas
Ed Lee Yates, son, June 1885, 14, born Arkansas
Maud M Yates, dau, March 1888, 12, born Arkansas
Davie W Yates, son, Feb 1897, 3, born Indian Territory (looks like Daniel)
Minnie M Yates, dau, May 1900, 1/12, born Arkansas
Allie R Allen, dau, Feb 1879, 21, born Arkansas
Oscar Allen, grandson, Oct 1897, 2, born Indian Territory
Edner Allen, granddau, Nov 1899, 6/12, born Indian Territory

I am not finding James Yates or Matilda Heavington in either 1870 or 1860.

I found a marriage between James M Yeats and Matilda Heffington on Aug. 24, 1876 in White Co., Arkansas.
