I am trying to find the descendants of Don and Jean Lorayne Brewer Yates. Jean Brewer, my father and their brothers and sisters were separated after their Mother died of influenza in 1918...in Aberdeen, MS. Aunt Jean was the youngest, and then my father. (Wayland Lee Brewer)It was over 40 years before they found each other.
My father and all his siblings died knowing nothing of their family history...except the names of their mother and father. Thru GenForum and the help of many kind folks, I have been able to get a wealth of our Brewer history going back before the American Revolutionary War. I would love to share it with Aunt Jean's children, grandchildren, etc.
The following info is from a local paper in Big Spring, dated probably in the early '60's: Jean and Don both worked for Cosden Petroleum Co. Their home was at 1909 Mittel. At
that time, their children ranged from 15 to 22. The youngest was Donna, then Phil Elliott, who also worked for Cosden. He married Nan Rankin. Then Deanna, who was married to Robert Rogers. Two children listed...Robbie and Mike. Deanna was employed as an office nurse for a local physican.
They attended Baptist Temple Church where Jean was Superintendant of Sunday School.
I will be happy to share the info I have with anyone interested.
