Yarwood clan

Ive just started to search out my family tree and wondered if anyone can give me any info on it .
My Grams name was Isabel Emily...maiden name, Rowan
I never knew my grandfather , and neither did my father as he died when my dad was quite young.
My Grandfathers name was Alfred Middleton Yarwood, He was in the Royal Artillery Mounted Band originally, but transferred to the Medical Corp. in India sometime after the first world war, which he fought in.
My Fathers name is Laurence Alfred Yarwood, Dob 23:01:31 & came into Canada through Montreal directly from Greenock Scotland in Sept.1952
He has 1 sister named Vera that was born in India during the time my grandfather was there.
Grandad had no brothers that my father knows of, but he did have a sister called Maude, who married someone called Huckett, they lived in London (Hackney EC4 district) but she is dead now.
Dad did tell me once, that my great great grandmother (on his side) was Jewish and spoke only Yiddish.
My great grandparents on my mothers side were George & Emily Rowan and her maiden name was Pedro DeTarza, and they lived in a place called Woolidge. I suspect that is where my grandad met my gram.
I have also been told by my father that the clan did origionate in Cheshire.
any help would be very appreciated !!
thank you
