I am at this moment looking for Mehitable Yarrow, as well, ... Perhaps this will help .. however, according to the following, she was from Worcester, MA, not Maine: 1. Thomas Worthley “was born in Bedfordshire, England, 1691, and came to America about 1705. He landed at Salem, Mass., but afterward removed to Worcester, Mass., where he married at an early age. He went to Weare [NH] in 1751, Oct., and was the third settler in town. He resided there the remainder of his life, and died at the great age of one hundred and eight years.” History of Bedford, New Hampshire:1126. 2. “Thomas Worthley was the third settler [in Weare, NH]. He was originally from Bedford [NH], but came to Weare from Goffstown, October, 1751. He settled on the west bank of the Otter near a cold spring and a few rods east of the north road from Oil-mill to South Weare. His old cellar is yet [1885] to be seen, and his wife’s grave, paved with white pebbles, is near by. By his cabin was an open meadow, where once was a beaver’s pond, and from it he got wild grass for his stock. His sons,–Timothy, Jr., Jonathan and Thomas,–came to Weare with him, ...” The names of Thomas Worthley (Sr.) and Thomas Worthley (Jr.) appear in 1764 on the first inventory of citizens taxed in Weare.
