Consider M. Yarnes(who went by the name Morgan Consider)
is born in 1838 and he is the son of Samuel Yarns and Phebe Riley.
He is enlisted in the 89th Infantry and mustered out in 1865 in Va.
Consider Yarns Jr. is born in Chenango NY abt 1810 and dies in
Broome County Ny in 1863. This last Consider is the
one married to Hannah Cook. He would not
have a pension file as his wife Hannah died in 1866.
In 1890 the pension system was expanded to give
pensions to civil war vets who were disable in
the war. Civil War pensions were not what a vet
would receive today. If you were sent home on a disability
and died, you would not get a pension.
If you read a civil war pension file it will break
your heart to understand what these men went
thru to get a $10.00 pension.
Hope this helps or have I made it clear as mud!
