Yarns/Yarnes in Pennsylvania
Am the son of George Asahel Yarns, he was born Nov. 1, 1894 in New Jersey but his parents lived in Carbondale, PA. He died on Oct. 18, 1980 in Scranton, PA. His father was George Linus Yarns, born in March 15, 1850 and died on Nov. 2, 1900. His father was Asahel Yarns, born on April 2, 1820 and died on April 17, 1900. All are buried in the Carbondale, PA cemetery. The name Asahel appears in several forms in our family: Asael, Asil. It should be noted that Lackawanna County in Pennsylvania was at one time Luzerne County and before that it was Northumberland County. We have four children, David, Christopher, Tamara and Danielle Yarns. Also, my Son Christopher has had quadruplets 19 months ago, Trey, Chase, Tiana and Rhys Yarns. Probably the first quadruplets born in the Yarns family. There are Yarnes and Yarns from the same family buried in Wayne County. There is a Yarnes mentioned in Volume II of The Mayflower Index: Consider Yarnes?
