Hi Marian,
your Samuel appears to be the one baptised at St. Matthew's, Bethnal Green in June 1837. His parents seem to be Samuel Y. and Jane Swettenham married in 1835. There are numerous baptisms of Yardleys in this St. Matthews, going back to Edward in 1747, just after the opening of this church. However, very few marriages are recorded. The parish was part of Stepney before 1746, and there are many more Yardley entries in those records.
As to Samuel born 1837, he is very difficult to trace before 1871 census. He seems to be at some boarding school in 1851.
