Elaine,
There are so many yarbroughs named William, john, Thomas & James in every generation of yarbroughs from the earliest ancestor found in Virginia to the present day -- it is mind boggling.

It is almost essential to start with your father or grandfather and go back, linking each generation. You said your father was William Grant Yarbrough. Do you know your grandfather Yarbroughs name and the state where he lived? If so, if you want to send me the information, I'll be glad to check and see if I have anything that will get you started.
