J Yarbrough,

Do you have a Lucy W. Yarborough (daughter of Amon Yarborough, of Humphrey Yarborough, Jr., of Ambrose Yarborough)within any of your material?

Lucy married a John M. Lanier born ca 1809 or 1810 in Anson Co. N.C. and married about 1834 or 5 either in Ansonville, Anson Co., N.C. (or) in Alabama. Their son Amon Franklin "A.F." Lanier was my G.grandfather. Amon Franklin Lanier was born 1835 in Alabama and died in Gustine, Comanche Co., Tx. and is buried there in the Union Cemetery. Amon served in the Confederacy (from copy of his pension papers). He was injured in Atlanta, Geo when Sherman took the city, 1&2 Sept 1864. His mother Lucy W. (Yarborough) Lanier, died in Eufaula, Barbour Co.,Alabama.(per her will) We cannot find her husband John M. Lanier (after the 1860 Ala Census). He went to North Carolina to teach. He was a vet. for animals. We cannot find him after that. I did find a John M. Lanier in Potter Co. Texas and in Central Texas, but I am not sure that this is Lucy's husband. John's grandchildren died in Texas.

Can you help me with Lucy's birthday and the missing wives of these Yarborough men and their children? Any other information about my family would surely be appreciated.

Thank you. (lorettak)
