Ryan -- If you're active in Yantis/Yandes genealogy, and especially Simon Yandes of Indiana (1816-1903), perhaps you'll come across information I'm seeking on my great grandmother Kate Yandes (b. 1850?), who m. A. Theodore Thompson in Auburn IN Nov 1871. She may have been dau of S. L. (?Simon Lafayette) Yandes of Auburn IN, who may have been the Lafayette Yandes who m. Roxiana (sic?) Bartlett in 1849 and d. Dec 31(?) 1877 by drowning in a lake in IN. Simon (1816-1903) was son of Daniel -- was S. L. a son of Daniel's (older?) bro Simon? And have you any knowledge of the Mexican Yandes family? My grandmother Jeanette Yandes Thompson (b 1875 Elizabeth City NC) lived with (or else extensively visited) the Indianapolis Yandes family, even to calling Florence Stitt Robinson (the Yandes genealogist) "Aunt Flo Stitt" -- but always, I think, as a poor relation. Any help you can give me will be much appreciated. -- Jared Lobdell (son of Charles E. and Jane Elizabeth Hopkins Lobdell who was dau of Earl Palmer Hopkins and Jeanette Yandes Thompson Hopkins).
