Hi there....we also pronounce it Yant~ie...like Praying Mantis....that what i have been brought up in my families...as going back in history of our orginal last named before came to America from Germany...the spelling is Gentes...pretty much with the accent and pronouncation get our Yantis/ Yantes and Yandes in America...yes i am still wroking on the families tree and see a lots of confusing on the wayof searching.
