I am responding in December of 2004, so you probably already have an answer to your question, but here goes anyway.
The significance of the Lapsley name is this: John Yantis married Priscilla Catherine Lapsley, b. 1781 in Rockbridge Co., VA. One of their children was John Lapsley Yantis, b. 1804, who married Elizabeth Ann Markham Montgomery.
The Lapsley name is carried down in every generation. That is how I found the hook-up to the Yantis name. I am actually researching the Crockett name.
