Oh no...it totally had me confused as well. I can totally understand.

The elder of the John Lapsley Yantis-es either has to be the same person, who moved from Missouri to Oregon, and then either moved back to Missouri and/or was buried there, or there is at least 3 John Lapsley Yantis-es....the Missouri Rev JLY, the elder of the Oregon Rev. Dr. JLY, and my gggrandfather John Lapsley Yantis...1858-1942, which I know for sure because I've seen his tomb. And, all things being what they are, the likelyhood is he was named after the elder, (or one of the elder) John Lapsley Yantis.

I do know that my extended family has always had extremely strong ties with the Presbyterian Church.
