I believe that the Rev. Dr. John Lapsley Yantis may have been either the Uncle or the Great Uncle (brother of Amos Yantis) of my gg-grandfather John Lapsley Yantis (1858-1942)

He originally lived in Missouri, and I have a record that he was the original Minister at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Portland Oregon until 1859, and actually lived in Calipooia He is also mentioned in the diary of George Whitworth on a couple of occasions.
