Yes, I believe we are talking about the same family.
I have John as the third oldest child of Jacob Yantis and Ruth (Chrysman/Christman) Yantis. I have him born in Loudon County, Virginia July 11, 1780 and died October 25, 1837 in Lafayette County, Missouri. Also, I have his brother Amos (fourth oldest child of Jacob and Ruth) born August 14, 1782 and a younger brother Jesse Yantis (8th child of Jacob and Ruth) born December 9, 1797.
