Simon Yandes (1733-1817) immigrated from the Alsace-Lorraine area of Germany or France to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and served in the Revolutionary War. He married Anna Catherine Rider in 1779, and later moved to Fayette County, Pennsylvania. They had two sons, Simon Jr. and Daniel (1793-1878). Daniel married Anna Wilson and moved from Pennsylvania to Corydon, Indiana in 1818, and later settled in Indianapolis. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsyl- vania, Indiana, Ohio, Iowa, Minnesota, Florida and elsewhere.
