The Rector Chapel Cemetery has been designated as a Texas State Historic Cemetery. The historical marker and medallion will be dedicated Saturday, November 2, at 10:00 A.M. at the cemetery located on FM 2772 in La Vernia, Texas. Interred in this cemetery are the following members of the Yantis, Duncan and Connelly families:

JAMES CONNELLY DUNCAN, JR. 11/30/1877 - 1/1/1878
YANTIS DUNCAN 2/27/1868 - 5/29/1889
ELI STONE YANTIS 8/24/1873 - 11/12/1891
SUSAN E. YANTIS 1831 - 11/3/1878
ROBERT FRANKLIN YANTIS 5/28/1828 - 6/16/1912

I have just received information that Martha Eleanor Yantis Duncan (sister of Robert Franklin Yantis) is buried in this cemetery in an unmarked grave. According to family information written by James Connelly in 1902, Martha died 12/27/1900 and was buried in La Vernia. The above James Connelly Duncan, Jr. and Yantis Duncan are her children.
Does anyone have other documentation on the burial of Martha and her husband, James Connelly Duncan? directions to the cemetery: From downtown La Vernia, take FM 775 North one mile; take FM 2772 East - go one half mile; cemetery is located on the right side of road.
