Enid Yandell's birth year is variously given as 1869, 1870 and
1871. Her parents were Dr. Lunsford "Lunny" P. Yandell and
Maria Louisa "Louise" Elliston. They married in Dec 1867 in
Nashville. I'm trying to establish that L.P.'s father was the
teaching physician who was in Louisville on the 1850 census,
married to a Susan. He was born in 1805 in Tennessee and lived
for some time in Rutherford Co(co seat Murfreesboro). By 1860
it looks like the two men named L.P. Sr. and L.P. Jr. had moved to Memphis(5th Ward) but the rest of the family is
absent. Sr. may have remarried about 1853 to an Elizabeth.
I have no sure last names for his wives. Jr. then joined the
4th Tenn Inf in 1861 as a private, then was appointed asst.
surgeon. Sr. died in 1879 in KY, but I have no death date for
"Lunny." Any help would be appreciated.
